OVO Arena Wembley is one of London’s biggest and most iconic venues playing host to some of the best events each year, from sport to music concerts, conferences and award shows and we’re on the lookout for a skilled and confident event organiser to cover the role of Assistant Event Operations Manager .

The Assistant Event Operations Manager is a key role within the venue, you will be responsible for planning and delivering events and be the main link between the venue, event promoters, production personnel and organisers to meet the needs of our clients and customers.

As one of the main event planners for the venue you will ensure that from confirmation through to event end, events are planned effectively and run successfully. You will also be responsible for liaising with all internal departments including ticketing, technical, Security/ front of house to establish, plan and deliver events as per the events calendar.

Role responsibilities involve fulfilling safety responsibilities along with maximising profitability of events through cost control and additional revenue opportunities. You will liaise with clients, contractors, sponsors, and statutory agencies to ensure that necessary services and staffing are planned and provided to fulfil our contractual and safety commitments, all whilst providing a high level of client and customer service.

You will be the key decision-maker and person in charge of the venue during the event so the ability to work under pressure is essential. You will understand and be able to execute our venue emergency procedures and security operating plans if required.

You will be required to write event plans, event risk assessments and security risk assessments so an important focus on health and safety is a must.

You will ideally have at least 2 years of event management/operations experience in a similar role at a music/entertainment/conference or leisure venue with previous experience of planning and operational running of events and a good understanding of front of house management, managing crowds and basic production are required.

The desired candidate will be organised with strong communication skills. IOSH Managing safety cert is preferred. Successful completion of probation will depend upon completion of a Duty Manager framework of learning and assessment. The role requires weekend and evening work.
