STELLAR CONCERT AT REOPENING OF COLISEO DE PUERTO RICO

(SAN JUAN, P.R. – June 28, 2021) — As the entertainment industry begins to flourish after a global lockdown, the emblematic Coliseo de Puerto Rico José Miguel Agrelot (better known as “El Choliseo”), reopened its doors on June 26, 2021 to welcome 7,000 attendees to Gilberto Santa Rosa’s concert “Camínalo Pal Choli”.Santa Rosa, a Puerto Rico musical icon, delivered a world-class production, a 3-hour stellar performance with special guests and a vast repertoire of his famous musical trajectory. The arena sang and danced throughout the mesmerizing evening which also featured a spectacular display of lighting, and a presentation of the Puerto Rico Olympic team.

As explained by ASM Global’s Regional Manager Jorge Pérez “following the Puerto Rico Government’s Executive Order, the event was envisioned as a hybrid concert, which allowed fully vaccinated attendees to fully enjoy the memorable evening without the requirement of physical distancing. Other areas of the arena had physical distancing parameters and we deployed ASM Global’s VenueShield and GBAC Star Facility protocols throughout the Coliseo, along with ushers and security to safeguard and ensure our visitors experience”. Moving forward, all concerts and events at the arena will be for fully vaccinated attendees, allowing for a 100% occupancy rate. However, VenueShield parameters at restrooms, concession stands, hand sanitizer stations and disinfection protocols will continue to be implemented as part of ASM’s operational standards of excellence.

The Puerto Rico Department of Health also deployed a team of health professionals at the venue to offer COVID-19 vaccines to concert goers as part of the local government’s plan to amplify inoculation on the Island.

“Over the last week, the Coliseo de Puerto Rico announced 15 upcoming concerts that have sold out in hours, over 150,000 tickets. An example of people’s desire to cherish and enjoy our musical and event offerings. We look forward to the strengthening of our industry, working alongside local and US producers to bring world-class productions back to Puerto Rico”, said Pérez.
