ASM Global, the premier venue management and services company, has appointed Eric Blockie as General Manager of Tech Port Center and Arena. The Center will feature a 3,300-seat concert, esports and entertainment Arena, the country’s newest high-end Gaming Center and a cashless Food Hall featuring 6 unique restaurant concepts. The complex will also be the home of the San Antonio Museum of Science and Technology (SAMSAT) and an adjacent technology prototyping laboratory. The San Antonio-based entertainment and lifestyle destination will open in the spring of 2022.
The Center’s location in the heart of Port San Antonio’s campus makes it a strategic asset for marquee employers in aerospace, cybersecurity, defense, biomedicine, and applied technology that are thriving on the 1,900-acre technology campus and across the region.
An industry veteran with over 30 years of experience, Blockie joins ASM Global after a long tenure with the City of San Antonio as the Event Programming Manager at the Alamodome. Blockie served as General Manager at arenas and amphitheaters in California, New Mexico, and Texas. He started his career with Bill Graham Presents working in the office with Bill Graham in San Francisco.
