CHRIS WHITNEY NAMED GENERAL MANAGER OF CENTURY II

CHRIS WHITNEY NAMED GENERAL MANAGER OF CENTURY II PERFORMING ARTS & CONVENTION CENTER

WICHITA, KAN. (JANUARY 7, 2022) – ASM Global, the premier venue management and services company, has hired Chris Whitney as General Manager of the Century II Performing Arts & Convention Center located in Wichita. Whitney will become the first General Manager for the performing arts & convention center under ASM Global Management and will transition into her new role at the end of January.

As General Manager, Whitney will have responsibility for the overall management, promotion and operation of the facilities including purchasing, booking, marketing, finance, human resources, food and beverage, box office, security, production, operations and more.

“Chris is a tremendous leader within ASM Global and has been a major contributor to the overall success of multiple venues throughout her career,” said Tony Cima, Senior Vice President of Stadiums and Arenas for ASM Global. “I am confident I can speak on behalf of our entire ASM Global team as well as our contract administrators and valued community partners when I say that we are all thrilled to welcome Chris back to Wichita as General Manager at Century II Performing Arts & Convention Center. I am positive the passion and enthusiasm she has for the live events business will create a winning team and culture.”

Most recently, Whitney has served as Director of Finance for ASM Global at T-Mobile Center in Kansas City, Mo. Prior to T-Mobile Center, Chris was one of the very first employees hired in Wichita to open INTRUST Bank Arena in 2009 and was instrumental in the overall success of the arena, serving as Director of Finance until 2013 when she was then promoted to Assistant General Manager & Director of Finance. Whitney served in this role until November 2020.

Throughout her venue management career, Whitney has received many accolades, including the Wichita Business Journal 2009 40 under 40 award, the 2013 CFO award and the 2015 Women in Business award. Additionally, she was selected by the Kansas Society of CPAs as a 2012 20 up to 40 leadership recipient and was honored with the 2013 Emerging Leader Award by the Kansas Society of CPAs in conjunction with the American Institute of CPAS.
