ASM GLOBAL-MANAGED MOHEGAN SUN ARENA CELEBRATES BEST FINANCIAL YEAR IN VENUE HISTORY
INCREASE IN BOOKINGS AND PREMIUM SALES OFFERINGS YIELD RECORD NET OPERATING INCOME
(WILKES-BARRE, PA – January 11, 2024) — In a whirlwind of sold-out shows and fan fervor, Mohegan Sun Arena at Casey Plaza has shattered a number of records this past year, resulting in the best financial year in the venue’s history.
Managed by ASM Global, the world’s leading venue management company and producer of live-event experiences, Mohegan Sun Arena at Casey Plaza welcomed more than 325,000 guests this past year, resulting in unprecedented ticket sales and revenues and nearly tripling its projected net operating revenue budget for 2023.
ASM Global’s premium sales team also exceeded expectations by achieving nearly 95% in-suite lease capacity and selling remaining inventory for event-day rentals for hockey games and concerts.
Among the event records broken include Mohegan Sun Arena’s highest-grossing event ever, Kenny Chesney's sold-out performance, which also achieved the highest per capita spending on food and beverage, underscoring the success of Mohegan Sun Arena's new food and beverage locations and premier guest offerings.
The venue also experienced its fastest sold-out event, where tickets for country singer Zach Bryan’s debut performance at the venue were sold in minutes. Additionally, during their 2023 stops to the region, Disney On Ice, Monster Jam and World Wrestling Entertainment each experienced their highest earnings while at the Mohegan Sun Arena.

Based on the community’s positive response and fan turnout, we have no doubt that these are the top priorities for our guests and that this is the winning strategy for our venue.”
Among the events held at Mohegan Sun Arena in 2023, nine performances boasted sold-out audiences, including Jeff Dunham, Kenny Chesney, Shinedown, Zach Bryan, WWE SMACKDOWN, Thomas Rhett, WWE RAW, Billy Strings and Trans-Siberian Orchestra. The event calendar also featured performances by Dropkick Murphys, Breaking Benjamin with Bush, Old Dominion with Chase Rice and Kylie Morgan, Monster Jam, Blippi, The Musical, Jurassic World Live and the Harlem Globetrotters.
Mohegan Sun Arena also hosted several community events in 2023, including eight college and high school commencement ceremonies, PIAA-division high school basketball playoffs, the Universal Cheerleading Association’s regional competition, tradeshows and conventions. Additionally, the venue hosted 40 games for the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins, Mohegan Sun Arena’s primary tenant and American Hockey League affiliate of the Pittsburgh Penguins.
