ASM GLOBAL AND MECUM AUCTIONS ANNOUNCE MULTIYEAR STRATEGIC PARTNERSHIP AGREEMENT
ASM Global, the world’s leading venue management and services company, and Mecum Auctions, the worldwide leader in auctions of collector cars, vintage motorcycles and Road Art sales, announced today a multiyear strategic partnership. The agreement will allow Mecum to capitalize on ASM Global’s expertise and reach for centralized booking and routing across its extensive network of more than 200 venues throughout North America.
“As Mecum Auctions continues to expand in the world of entertainment, strengthening our relationship with ASM Global simply made sense,” said Mecum Chief Executive Officer Dave Magers. “We look forward to the opportunities this partnership will provide for our customers and fans as Mecum and ASM Global work together to enhance the overall Mecum experience throughout the country.”
The partnership will utilize ASM Global’s experienced team of Event Managers to simplify and streamline the event-planning process and extensions into new and desired markets. Mecum Auctions will also receive access to the live event industry’s top marketing professionals and creative campaigns to drive exposure, maximize sales and enhance the guest experience. While assisting in the routing of Mecum Auctions across its portfolio of managed facilities, ASM Global’s Event Innovation Team will also secure world-class entertainment to expand on existing event formats and develop unique VIP experiences.
“We engage in industry-leading approaches to exceed client goals, and our exciting partnership with Mecum Auctions will showcase the many options that ASM Global can deliver,” said ASM Global Chairman Bob Newman. “Mecum is the market leader, and we are honored to extend and strengthen our relationship to ensure their guests enjoy amazing live experiences across our network.”
In partnership with ASM Global and its industry-leading VenueShield reopening program and protocols, Mecum Auctions generated more than $122.8 million in overall sales at its recently held live classic and collector car auction at Osceola Heritage Park in Kissimmee, Florida. With a total of more than 2,000 vehicles crossing the auction block Jan. 7-16, 2021, the reserve-based auction achieved an 89% sell-through rate.
