HR Advisor - CGC Event Caterers - Garforth, Leeds

Purpose:

As HR Advisor you will support the operations team in offfering HR advice and guidance on HR processes and procedures, employment law guidance, performance management, probation reviews, absence management, colleague engagement, investigations, disciplinary and grievance process.

Working as part of a wider HR team you will support us in the implementation of HR initiatives relating to training and development, colleague wellbeing and colleague recognition and engagement. You will also support the business in the implementation of new HR systems which will involve supporting the operations team through a significant period of change.

Key Accountabilities:

  • To provide a generalist HR service on a range of issues such as recruitment and selection, timekeeping, absence, performance management, discipline and grievance.
  • To assist the HR Business Partner and wider ASM Global HR team with HR issues as required.
  • To assist with writing and updating HR policies and procedures.
  • To assist with recruiting and maintaining the casual staffing database for CGC venues.
  • To assist the HR Business Partner in embedding HR initiatives by coordinating their implementation.
  • To deliver staff inductions and training sessions.
  • To assist with TUPE, or equivalent, issues include terms and conditions, consultation, redeployment and redundancy handling.
  • To provide accurate management information as required.
  • To assist with HR project work, for example, the implementation of new HR systems, the integration of new clients/venues and supporting group wide HR initiatives.
  • To advise, coach and challenge Line Managers in the application of HR processes and procedures.
  • Support Line Managers in probation review meetings and formal HR meetings, taking accurate minutes.
  • To advice Line Managers on employment law updates.
  • Ad hoc duties as assigned by the HR Business Partner.

Skills & Competencies required:

  • CIPD Level 3 qualified.
  • A proven track record of working in a HR advisory capacity.
  • Up to date knowledge of UK legislation and statutory requirements.
  • Excellent administration, organisational and communication skills.
  • Solid relationship management skills.
  • Good presentation skills.
  • Problem solving and decision making skills.
  • Good level of IT skills, including good knowledge of MS Excel and HR databases.
  • Ability to work on own initiative and to work under pressure.
  • Excellent team player.
  • Experience of working in a catering, hospitality, leisure environment would be advantageous.

Additional Information

Due to the nature of the role there is a requirement to travel to other venues.

The role may involve some evening and weekend work.
