Working as an AV Technician as part of the Operations Technical team you will play a key role in delivering a first class service to Exhibition, Conference and Entertainment organisers.


  • Ensure delivery of events as per the Venue Management Booking System event checklist i.e. room setup and equipment deployment.
  • Maintain the Audio-Visual equipment for P&J Live.
  • To be client facing in a conference and small meeting environment, ensuring the seamless integration between the client and P& J Live equipment.
  • To deploy Event IT cabling as required.
  • Advise clients on their AV requirements.
  • To highlight to Managers any additional AV equipment required to deliver client needs.
  • Assist in the compiling of the stock report of all AV equipment and ensure it is kept up to date.
  • Ensure allocated areas are kept clean, organised and tidy at all times.
  • Assist with the repair and maintenance of the P&J Live in-house equipment. Ensure defects in equipment are identified and reported.
  • Any other reasonable duties as required in the best interests of P&J Live as requested by your Line Manager or Event Manager.

  • Provide technical advice and support to other departments. To support the other roles within the venue, providing assistance when and where requested.
  • As required undertake tasks outside of your core discipline and work both closely and supportively with other departments, clients and external contractors.
  • To ensure the use of all PPE provided when required for working activities in line with method statements and safe systems of work.
  • Demonstrate a positive attitude toward learning new skills and undertaking training including travelling to alternative locations to undertake training.
  • Support sustainability initiatives, environmental compliance and support measures for increased efficiency and minimalizing impact.
  • To observe and comply with security policies in relation to personal behaviour and the protection of ASM global buildings and assets.
  • To undertake any other relevant duties commensurate with the level of responsibility of the role as assigned by Operations Support Supervisor, Head of Operations or Event Team.

  • Ability to demonstrate a working knowledge of current and emerging AV technologies and be able to detail the support challenges for these technologies.
  • Must be proficient in supporting and directing the support of current and past AV technologies and/or Microsoft operating systems and associated software.
  • Use specialist knowledge to recommend, design and deliver solutions to address complex issues and continually improve efficiency, continuity and the AV customer experience.
  • Ability to demonstrate, initiative, show motivation, judgement and well developed technical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Able to demonstrate effective transfer of skills and knowledge to colleagues.
  • Ability to work without direct supervision.
  • IPAF licence to operate MEWPS would be advantageous.
  • Relevant experience in a similar or related support role.
  • Operational and technical knowledge of relevant systems.
  • Sound technical background, including knowledge of currents standards and developments in audio-visual technologies.
  • Experience of a customer focused service delivery environment.

Vetting Requirements

ASM Global requires all staff to be vetted and the following will be required:

  • 5 years of employment verification.
  • Proof of ID & UK right to work.
  • Proof of address.
  • Proof of Qualification.
  • Coverage of any 31+ day employment gap.
